Andre Iguodala WINS the race!

During the month of April we had a great time with STAR Partners Andre Iguodala and Jrue Holiday from the Philadelphia 76ers! Iguodala and Holiday helped us raise awareness and funds to support educational opportunities for children living in low-income urban areas and for children who are living with autism! Donors were entered for a chance to win autographed prizes from our Star Partners and one lucky donor will win a private lunch with Iguodala! Stay tuned…we will be announcing the winner later this month, so check back!

Special Thanks to Jrue Holiday!!! He was very close in the race and he raised funds and awareness for a very special cause. Stars Within Reach’s commitment to autism does not end with this race, we will continue to raise awareness and funds to help families impacted by autism.

Iguodala made a promise to help support the students at Urban Promise, a school based in Camden, NJ.

This cause is very important to Andre because he knows that many students living in urban areas such as Camden & Philadelphia, face daily obstacles that threaten their ability to graduate.

Your donation for Team Dre will be used to help students at Urban Promise reach their dream of graduating.

DONATE: To help Jrue Holiday support children living with AUTISM!

Jrue Holiday made a promise to help children impacted by autism. This cause is very important to Jrue because he understands the difficulties caused by this lifelong, complex neurobiological disorder. Not only can autism create challenges in the classroom, but children who are impacted by autism also face a lifetime of very expensive medical and educational assistance.

Your donation for Team JRUE will be used to help children who are impacted by autism receive the services and educational opportunities they deserve.

GIVEAWAYS FOR OUR SUPPORTERS

As a token of appreciation, Dre & Jrue wanted to do something nice for those who decided to support A Race for Promise! Your name will be entered into the giveaway drawing each time you donate!  The more you donate, the more chances you have to WIN! At the end of this 10-day campaign, Dre & Jrue will make phone calls to the lucky winners to let them know they won! So what are the give away items? We have three. Prize (1) A jersey autographed by Dre & Jrue; Prize (2) A pair of basketball sneakers autographed by Dre & Jrue; and (drumroll please)…Prize (3) A private lunch party for one of our donors and 5 of their friends hosted by Stars Within Reach & Andre Iguodala!

DONATION RULES – RACE FOR A PROMISE (the contest has been extended):

A Race for Promise is sponsored by Stars Within Reach, Inc. (“SWR”), a PA nonprofit organization and program partners of the Urban Affairs Coalition. All donations to SWR are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted under the Internal Revenue Code governing 501(c)(3) organizations. A Race for Promise will begin on March 21, 2011 at 7:00PM (EST) and end May 1st, 2011 at 11:59PM (EST). For each donation, donors will be entered into a random drawing to win one of three (3) giveaways. Winners will be selected on or before May 15, 2011 and notified via email. Each winner will have seven (7) business days to claim his/her giveaway item. SWR reserves the right to substitute giveaway items at any time, without notice.

If you are unable to make a donation online, you can mail your donation to Stars Within Reach, Inc. ATTN: Race for a Promise. All mailed donations must be received on or before May 1, 2011 in order to entered into the giveaway drawing. A donation is not required to be entered for a chance to win one of the Race for Promise giveaway items. If you would like to be entered for a chance to win a giveaway item and you can not afford to make a donation, please send a 3×5 index card with your Full Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address and brief statement on who you would like to see win this Race, Dre or Jrue. All mail in entries, must be received on or before May 1, 2011. Donations Rules are subject to change.
