Our World Within Reach

Each January Stars Within Reach begins the year with a reminder that we are all interconnected. This international campaign champions health and wellness issues in international communities. We focus our efforts on ending hunger and violence, as well as combating the spread of HIV/AIDS and various preventable diseases. SWR believes that demonstrate that distance cannot separate us from the harsh realities of hunger and disease. Where one person suffers, we all suffer.

Our World Within Reach – Remembering Haiti

One year after the life-changing earthquake in Haiti, there are still so many people who need our help. In addition to the millions of people who were left homeless, injured, and without family after the earthquake, thousands more have been impacted by cholera epidemic, violence, and dangerous tent cities.

Among this devastation, Stars Within Reach was particularly concerned with the safety of the young women and children who have been living in tent cities for the last year. Stories of physical violence, child abuse and sexual assaults haunted us as we reached out to offer our assistance to organizations with ground efforts in Haiti. Rebuilding Haiti will take time, but SWR believes that we can help create safe living conditions for the women and children today and every day until everyone living in Haiti is safe!

We have partnered with organizations like Beyond Borders to provide matching donations that are being used to protect children and women from violence in the tent cities.
